Journal #5 - New Location Set Up

We are working hard to set up the new location this week. The new place will have a similar layout but about twice as wide and 20 feet longer allowing for players to gather speed and shoot at more angles.
The new location will be located at 3239 Number 6 Road (unit 159), only 2 blocks away from the first Slapshot Alley (which will remain open). We are sharing the location with Apex Badminton.
Apex Badminton
The New Slapshot Alley location was found on Facebook Marketplace under an ad posted by Jackson, the owner of Apex Badminton. Jackson posted the ad last year in October and we made a deal to share the location in November. The place is brand new, so we had to do some construction in order to get our licenses approved. Our licenses were approved on April 1st, 2025.
Badminton and Ping Pong
Apex Badminton is already running smoothly with badminton and ping pong running all day long every day. I think my wife Jas and I will get a membership. Most of the badminton players there are really, really good so we will probably just have to rally by ourselves because we are just beginners.
Setting Up the New Alley
The new Can-Ice Pro Series has been set up with a couple of my favourite hockey tarps from X Hockey Products, but we still need to build a pro shop, lay down rubber mats surrounding the ice, and protect the walls with netting. We will be inviting some of our regulars to test out the layout this weekend and I will report back soon!
