NHL PRO TECHNIQUE

CLIFF RONNING

SLAPSHOT ALLEY evolved from the shooting instruction and hockey stick knowledge at BASE Hockey with Co-Owner Cliff Ronning and other former NHL players.

Cliff Ronning’s hockey career first made headlines in the early 80’s while playing for the New West Bruins of the WHL. During his Junior stretch, Cliff went on to receive the 84-85 WHL MVP of the Year award after breaking Brian Propp’s all-time scoring record. That year Cliff tallied 89 goals in 70 games with a total of 197 points.

Drafted in the 7th round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues, Cliff’s path to the NHL began with the Canadian National Team, where he led the team in scoring. After 3 years with St. Louis, Cliff was traded to his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks. In Vancouver Cliff established himself as an elite NHL player, setting-up and scoring clutch goals that would eventually lead to the Stanley Cup Finals in 94.

Cliff retired from the NHL in 2004 with 1137 regular season games played, accumulating 306 goals and 563 assists for 869 points
